Hello! Thank you for your interest in me.
My name is Mireia Ramos and I was born in Sentmenat (Barcelona) on January 1992. I like going out with my friends, going to the cinema, travelling and know other cultures, learning new things and living new experiences.
In All you need is Biology I am responsible for the genetics’ section, and I am the only geneticist of the group.
Honestly, I don’t know why I studied genetics, but I know that I don’t regret about it. Genetics has opened me the doors to endless new knowledge, and little by little I will share them with you.
In 2015 I finished my bachelor’s degree in Genetics in the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), as part of the 3rd promotion of Spanish’s geneticists. Next year I did a postdegree in Medical Genetics (Valencia’s University). Currently, I study a master’s degree in Cytogenetics and Reproductive Biology in UAB.
I love working in a lab, but also the assistance side of genetics, like genetic counselling. If you can help, with your knowledge or just be there when someone needs it, it makes a better person.
However, I have done more outreach, as lectures in school to celebrate National DNA Day or as fellow in SchoolDay ESHG Congress.
